Offline Club: All Analog All Summer Long

  • Big Hill Books 405 Penn Ave. So. Minneapolis MN 55405 (map)

Wednesdays this summer, 3–4:30 p.m., are for kids, grades 3–7, who could use less screen time and more “analog” activities in their lives. Local authors and artists will lead these low-key weekly gatherings in our Ugly Church Basement. No cell phones, no iPads, no laptops. Just good old-fashioned book discussions, read-alouds, board games, journaling, crafts and more.

Advanced registration is required.

  • $25 per child per session for author events (includes the cost of a book)

  • $10 per child per session for non-author events

 Schedule of events:

  • July 16 - Yarn crafts with Kristin Klarkowski, local educator and podcast host of “Where We Knit”

  • Aug. 6 – Goblins & Fairies Party with local authors H.M. Bouwman, “Scattergood,” and Payal Doshi, “Rea and the Blood of the Nectar”

  • Aug. 20 – “The Scott Fenwick Diaries,” with local author Kristin Nilsen, plus creative journaling exercise
